It occurs to me that I should let people know about this, so here it is, nice post on top of her journal!

Sometimes in Astrid's dialogue, I will purposely leave out commas or end a question with a period instead of a question mark, like so:

"That is a very nice ring where did you get it."

These obviously won't always happen TOGETHER, but the intended effect is to imitate Astrid's speaking patterns - she doesn't always pause in a place where a pause (and therefore a comma) is usually found, and she does not always modulate her voice higher at the end of an interrogative sentence like people generally do. These grammatical "errors" are simply my attempt at expressing those quirks.

Also, yes, the abrupt subject changes, straightforward (almost tactless, in a young child sort of way) questions, and extremely abrupt conversation ends are normal, and happen a lot. Such is the price of conversation with Astrid
